Winch Bearing Project

Scope: Jack up the winch drum and replace the bearings othis mine-shaft hoist.

Equipment: Eight 150T lock-nut rams & the Jack-Mate power unit were used to smoothly raise and lower the 260,000 lb drum on this mine shaft hoist.

The Jack-Mate Advantage:

Jacking up a winch drum for bearing service is no easy task. The uneven weight distribution of the drum, and precise allignment requirement of the bearing shaft create a difficult challenge.

The Jack-Mate provided the control & safety necessary to raise and lower the drum confidently into place without twisting or sagging. The jacking process took less than 12 hours, helping reduce down time on this main production shaft hoist.

TBM Tunnel Project

Scope: This tunnel boring machine (TBM) needed to be pushed 10 meters into place, deep enough to attach its first liner ring.

Equipment: Eight 100T centre hole rams & the Jack-Mate power unit were used to smoothly push the machine while the TBM simultaneously bored a 3 meter tunnel.

The Jack-Mate Advantage:

Synchronous cylinder travel ensured the TBM's alignment while boring, and allowed the TBM  to be positioned without any undue torsional stress on the TBM or its cutters.

The Jack-Mate eliminates the occurrence of runaway cylinders, minimizing operator error and dramatically increasing site safety.

The user friendly control panel and systems automatic cycling allowed this project to be completed in record time.

Bridge Maintenance

Scope: This bridge crossing the St. Lawrence River required  a sixteen point lift for bearing pad replacement  and maintenance.

Equipment: Sixteen 260T Lock-Nut rams & the Jack-Mate power unit were used to raise and lower the bridge synchronously within 3mm.

The Jack-Mate Advantage:

Identical volume displacement allowed this crew to extend and retract all sixteen rams in 3mm increments simultaneously,  reducing the need for constant adjustments and undue deflection on the structure..

Simple controls and quiet operation make it easy for the controller to communicate with jack technicians.

The 110v power required to operate the Jack-Mate was easily supplied by a small generator.
